End Falling out of touch again Strange to think it's been any other way And will you tell me when I'm at my best Cause these things start to matter less and less But the dopamine's flowing, I'm fine It's sitting bitter It's coming back harsh I start it over It's only the first time that I've tried to be this way No faults, and only every ordinary Gone Has it really been that long Only ever wanted to connect and be connected Remembered for a while Plastic flowers last forever And the dopamine's flowing, I'm fine It's sitting bitter It's coming back harsh I start it over It's only the first time that I've tried to be this way No faults, and only every ordinary It's sitting bitter It's coming back harsh I think it over And I'm leaning towards no

Said I'm sorry, I don't know where to go from here And you could hardly call this a way to be Midnight walking cause I don't have someplace to be in the morning I'm running nowhere fast Listen closer, you might just get impressed by me I'd love to know that I'm doing something right Nervous talking, I'm trying to make you think I know what I'm doing I'm losing place and time And I could climb but I'd rather fall for you Take my time cause I don't have much to do Tell me there's nowhere good I'm going to Any time soon well I'd agree with you Said I'm sorry, I don't know where to go from here And you could hardly call this a way to be Though I'm only as good as I can make myself look on paper I'll take your suggestions please And I could climb but I'd rather fall for you Take my time cause I don't have much to do Tell me there's nowhere good I'm going to Any time soon well I'd agree with you I could climb but I'd rather fall for you Take my time cause I don't have much to do Tell me there's nowhere good I'm going to Any time soon well I'd agree with you

Never to be Everything to me Always what I see Always what I see Locked away in dreams Grasp at straws for things to say That I don't even mean Same as ever When your life is a candle you say what you must Midnight heat into daytime tarnish and rust Feel the weight of the emptiness pushing down You will grow to remember this fondly Daydreams and aspartame lies Say you'll be there by my side And I know it may look like I'm running But I'm just along for the ride And I leave you behind like lost blood or broken teeth Moving along What's been going on What's been going wrong Nothing going on Same as ever Does it hurt when I tell you to change your mind Do you know what it's like to be out of time Just be sure to keep laughing and I'll be fine You will grow to remember this fondly ("I'm trying" I say as I tell myself this is a temporary setback and soon I'll be Better than ever and well on my way to a life where I have something real to wake up for Chamomile tea leaves at three in the morning, they don't help me sleep but at least I can feel like I'm Working to change these old patterns I've fallen into) Daydreams and aspartame lies Say you'll be there by my side And I know it may look like I'm running But I'm just along for the ride Does it hurt when I tell you to change your mind Do you know what it's like to be out of time Just be sure to keep laughing and I'll be fine You will grow to remember this fondly Daydreams and aspartame lies Say you'll be there by my side And I know it may look like I'm running But I'm just along for the ride

I saw a previous roommate the other day I didn't wave cause I hated him anyway I'm getting over a cold and some other things I'm finally taking the time to take it easy Spending way too long trying to get my hair to fall the way I want it to But I don't mind Cause I've got time These are the days that I'll remember These are the times that I'll look back on and say, hey I was happy then I hope I didn't peak already but I'll never know till it's too late The rain is falling hard on my umbrella I'm smiling cause I know the plants appreciate it I'm lucky to have known someone like you I hope you all know that I'm gonna miss you I hope you know I'll think about the times we spent together when I'm old and tired I won't mind Cause I'll have time These are the days that I'll remember These are the times that I'll look back on and say, hey I was happy then I hope I didn't peak already but I'll never know till it's too late I'll never know till it's too late

about

NEO20

Club Tropicana is a collection of songs I wrote over the last 3 years, recorded in a lackadaisical acoustic style to reflect a general theme of being a bit too relaxed in the face of turmoil and uncertainty. The title and album art came from photos I took of a condemned mall in Phoenix that I became mildly obsessed with while staying there for a conference; once I had those ready to go I had no choice but to follow through with recording the EP. I chose to keep up a lo-fi vibe across the 4 songs, with heavy usage of a dirt-cheap FM keyboard from 1987 on both "Funemployed" and "Goodbye" and plenty of room noise to make everything feel as immediate as possible. Main inspirations for this release were Big Thief, Neutral Milk Hotel, and (Sandy) Alex G.
